Could anyone clear up some basic Pro's / Con's of the different solvents:


Also, what are the benefits of heating solvent for a pull, and when (if ever) should this be done?
 
heating a solvent is going to make it more soluble with spice , as the spice boils at a temp of 66c (more or less) increasing the temp on the solvent will make it easier for the spice to bond with the solvent thus acquiring more spice/increase in yield.
for the second question i think it's a bit obvious, you should , and definitely have to cover it for your sake
it's a f...ing higly flammable substance , any spark near it it,s enough to make it go "vooosh" and make you a human torch if your standing near it. be extra carefull using any substance ( wear glove and googles cuz lye can make you go blind aswell)
