here is 2 pictures I drew and colored. The first one I did a while back in pencil and then I just finished coloring it, and the second one is not finished yet. The first one is based on a mushroom experience I had that involved a vision of pixies singing to me about humanity needing new stories and mythologies to save our dying world..and the second one was inspired by a series of events that all involved a butterly/butterflys that were comming to be in ayahuasca visions(and still do). I would see them after I went through a deep level of introspection viewing things from my past etc, then I would have some realization and break through into ecstacy and butterflies would come out of me and flutter around. Then One day while hunting mushrooms I stopped by the vancouve aquarium and looked into the amazon rainforest area where they have a solarium with a rainforest garden. I was outside the building just looking through the window and the exact same butterfly flew up against the window inside. I came home and googled ayahuasca and butterfly's and the blue morpho butterly came up. I looked up and above me hanging from the ceiling was a stained glass butterly with wind chimes my mother gave me..blue.

Very nice fractal!!

that butterfly story is really wild :d

edit: hilarious sync...i was listening to this "manna" psilocybin documentary by Simon Powell that i'm watching on youtube while i posted this a few minutes ago.. and literally less than 1 minute after posting, i click back and see footage of butterflies and hear him saying "if one encounters a butterfly whilst under the influence of psilocybin, it can be an almost mythical event" 39 minutes in... LOL..thats too wierd !

hmm I used to do alot of oil painting and photography but not in 6 years probably. In the past few years ive done some random art on skimboards for myself and other people but thats it. I just started to get back into drawing again because I always feel a need to somehow portray my visions..I still cant get down what I actaully see exactly as I see it but it is close..kinda, sort of haha.

There´s actually a movie called 'the blue butterfly', in wich the blue morpho plays an important role. It´s sometimes a bit too 'sugary' IMO although it´s based on a true story, but it features beautiful images of the amazone.

Though it´s a bit over-the-top..sentimental for me sometimes, it does feel genuine and i did like watching it.

It's beautiful!
Great work, good symmetry!

I'm always surprised when someone comes out with awesome art, and I had no idea they even liked to draw. :)

Wow, it´s beautiful.

I just googled 'blue morpho' and i found there is even an ayahuasca retreat called that way. This butterfly is definately an important symbol in the amazon region.

Apparently you can see it from miles away because the color of it´s wings doesn´t come from pigments but from layers of tiny cells of reflecting material, structured in such a way that they especially reflect light with 'blue wavelengths' very well.

EXCELLENT!!!!! I love the pics and the stories behind them are awesome as well. You are very good!!!!!!!!!!!

here is some art I just did based on more ayahuasca and DMT visions..the lighting where I took the pic is kinda weird so it dulled the color and the camera sucks but here it is..

Wow Jamie, those are amazing. I love the gradients in the lower right and the sacred geometry in the top center. I'm sure the colors are breathtaking in person. Great job!

thanks. I am just figuring this out really. I never really did much art until the last year so I hope I am improving. It gets addictive and most of the time I end up doing it for a few hours after every trip while comming down.
