There's no easy path yet, but that means it's a great time for explorers. I don't want to understate the potential danger of Phalaris, but I shouldn't overstate it either. If you approach every batch of extract with due caution (without harmalas, by smoking for fast onset, starting at low dose and increasing slowly, with another person present to provide care if needed), then I don't think the danger is worse than motorcycling or fixing the roof. DMT-dominant named clones are available commercially where I am, though I don't know about SE Europe.


If the extract has been analyzed, then the danger should be very small. A professional lab test is ideal, and may be obtained anonymously. TLC isn't conclusive, but it's feasible at home and enough to reject most unpromising samples.


Many other taxa are reported to contain DMT--see, for example, Trout's Some Simple Tryptamines. I'm growing some Lespedeza bicolor now myself, with limited expectations but I enjoy scratching off the lottery ticket.
