good job weaver there is a great deal here, the precipitation in leaf material is a new idea, i got to wonder how that precipitati0on actually forms, by growing on top of the material or by actually breaking apart the material in the process.

also when you remove the plant matter, have you been able to check yet how much precipitates directly on the material? im curious because im wondering how much material per ratio would be needed to fully collect all the precipitate during the freeze cycle.

also why is the plant material so dark?

all said innovative, thank you for the post.

Wet blanket here - step 5 ("Close the jar tightly again and one gain, shake like a man man!" ) is downright dangerous. Putting that much undissolved lye into a glass jar of water, sealing it tight, and shaking the hell out of it is going to result in a jar exploding in somebody's hand sooner or later.
I wouldn't heat naptha on a stove - even in a water bath - on a bet either. If you must, at least have something between the glass jar and the bottom of the pot. If the jar is just sitting in the pot, the bottom of the jar is in direct contact with the bottom of the pot which is in direct contact with the burner. Mason jars aren't made to take that kind of stress.

Please edit this thread ASAP in view of what Noman just said. DO NOT EVER heat naphtha like you mentioned, for a warm water bath you FIRST boil the water, turn off the fire/heat source, and THEN submerge the open container with naphtha in the warm/hot water.

Also DO NOT add lye to the container and close tightly and shake, thats a very bad idea, the heat generated creates pressure that can make the glass explode and make some real real serious damage.

Also you make no mention of safety equipment (Goggles, gloves).

Thanks for trying to help others, btw, but please take care of yourself and others and edit this tek!

Once you edit the safety issues, you can delete the moderator warning im adding at the beginning of your first post.
