Stuck in the loop

Has anyone ever been stuck in the terror loop? I have been in there twice, both times from combining nitrous with 2c-i & 2c-e (respectively) , and have heard of others getting in there from DMT but this has not happened to me. The best way i can describe it is you keep repeating the same set of actions every few seconds, while this terrifying noise that sounds like aliens dissolving your brain in acid consumes your mental capacity. It is almost like they scream at you "now you know what it feels like, now you know what it feels like!" Even a brief moment in this place seems like eternity. My friend described it best: "i would rather have each of my limbs ripped slowly from my body than get stuck in the loop again!" Thanks for your thoughts fellow travelers.

Twice, in the past, with shrooms and LSD (separately). The only other substance consumed was some cannabis, but that's what set it off each time. I know exactly what you mean about aliens dissolving your brain in acid :lol:

It can seem like an eternity. The one I experienced with LSD was only a couple minutes apparently, but it felt like a year. Perhaps because one of my friends helped snap me out of it, whereas with the shrooms I was alone. I have had some thought loops since then, but they weren't terrifying like those previous experiences.

Yeah it is definitely not a thought loop i've had those but this is different and by far the most terrifying thing i have ever experienced! Now that you mention it my first one was on LSD, and i think the next two were "flashbacks" of a sort to that loop i experienced on acid.

I Have been stuck in this loop before. Same thing happens for me, I repeat the same 3 or 4 actions, for what seems like an eternity. While having absolutely no control over my body.

The first time, and the worst experience of this, was many years ago, and 8 grams of mushrooms. When I think back, that experience was terrifying, but it really has helped me overcome a lot.

This was a long time ago, and I had little experience with psychedelics.
During this trip, when I realized I was stuck in the loop, I didn't know how I was stuck, or why, or how long I was going to be stuck in it. So I tried to fight it, I was unaware, but this caused me to lose control. My friend who was with me, had trouble trying to restrain me, as I was shouting nonsense, thrashing about, and getting myself hurt.

Ever since this experience, I have been put back in the loop many times from mushrooms, DMT and even immense amounts of cannabis. (cannabis is VERY psychedelic for me, regardless DMT influenced adventure. day after? - DMT Experiences - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus )

But now, when I enter this loop, now It just reassures me that I am on my way. It is just a stage in the journey. This loop is vital for my mushroom experiences. When I enter the loop, Since I have experienced it before, I know not to fight it, but I use the loop's momentum to propel me even further in my journey.

I have been stuck in a loop a few times with DMT and it was very , well not frightening but nerve shaking?...Each time I was " remembering" or experiencing instant "oneness" and each time like a strong dose of salvia I was folding in on myself and "starting over"...I wanted it to stop and instead of relaxing my first instinct was to fight it which left me twisting back and forth like a washing machine.
This actually only lasted 30 seconds or so but might as well have been an eternity. After that I did not close my eyes but kept them open and rode out the OEV's which were intense but highly enjoyable, witnessing the hidden framework of this reality.
Thankfully I have been better about relaxing instead of fighting here lately!

I've had this several times with Cannabis when I was new to smoking it - due to the lapses in short term memory leaving me with temporary complete amnesia that renewed itself every few seconds - and I've also had this a few times with Ketamine and once with 4-AcO-DMT.

It's very weird to experience, I wouldn't say it's always a bad thing but it's quite strange and can be very unpleasant if you don't just go with it or at least break out of the loop.

Every time i've taken DMT it propells my mind into a place of apparently infinite self replication, the visuals multiply exponentially filling my consciousness with no end in sight.

On my first experience i thought i was going to be insane forever, and i've taken shrooms countless times & lsd a couple times so i thought i was well over that fear, but on DMT it was just so intense! Each subsequent trip since that first has been more & more enjoyable as i felt i learned to allow that replication freedom to be as it is.

That 'terror loop' can be seriously hellish if clung to or resisted, i would never wish that experience on anyone, but when you let it go, man, the beauty, it's just so mind blowing it makes me want to fall on the floor fully prostrate. Very humbling.

When that loop comes we have a tendency to say 'stop', but what if we said 'ok'

OP description resembles greatly with the beginning of almost all SWIM DMT experiences.

The entrance to the hyper-space always initiate with zillions of invisible hands manipulating his brain, repeating the same movements ritualistically. He feels that all those hands have owners: "entities"(or something like that) who are studying his brain to determine what to do next with him. All this are accompanied by a sound, growing in intensity as these invisible hands repeat the same movement, over and over again. He often feels there is something diabolical in what is happening but for his luckiness, what generally follows is a great and enjoyable journey through hyper-space.

Unfortunately it is not always so pleasurable. Some time ago I reported an analogue experience, this time as if his brain was being crushed by these hands, as if it were going to explode and die. I remember you telling "There is No Death, Only LIFE". But he is still unsure about it all. In recent days he has left the spice aside and has focused on other things, seeking to better understand what these diabolical experiences represent.

SWIM remembers the past when he has been stucked in 2-3 hours of eternal and repetitive loop from LSD, generally high dosage. Despite being very, very, very difficult, he did not call it "terror" or anything like that. And generally what followed were fantastic and wonderful discoveries, the most enriching of all his life.

When SWIY talks about the terror he also feels anxiety? By the way is 2C-x compounds able to produce anxiety, panic and/or drug induced psychosis?

Interestingly, I knew even while it was going on that it was the friggin' part of me that needed the most work: thinking/pretending that in my everyday life I was aspiring to be something I wasn't. Took about six years of living a much more disciplined life to work through that.

im quite familiar with Strange Loops. On nitrous and psychedelics especially. Although I am not quite familiar with the particular terror loops that you speak of... (and I hope I never find this loop) I have had shitloads of experience on nitrous and massive doses of acid and a few of the RCs (tct7 and nitrous and dmt are amazing!). Combining discociatives like nitrous can open up deep gateways within the brain and can cause some seriously anomalous phenomena to occur. I have on quite a few occasions totally lost my shit when delving too deep... Be carefull, seriously... They call them 'research chems' for a reason... I believe that nitrous can work as a shuttle or carrier for other psychoactive compounds... taking them deeper into uncharted realms of our psyches... I suppose there are some combinations that you dont want delving deeper into your brain tissue.

Many of you described it perfectly, which is odd to me. I was smoking DMT on a bed of caapi leaves and was then forced to repeat the same sequence of actions about 20-30 times. I felt I was being submersed under water, brought to the surface, sitting up looking over my balcony then sitting down and repeating this over and over while a telepathic voice was saying "Im going to show you just how fucked up things can become." I lost awareness of being a human being or existing, as well as time. Afterwards I contemplated jumping off the balcony, good thing I wasn't capable. Terrifying..I was inebriated, although, won't try that again.

I am abstaining from journeying on anything until i figure out why i keep being sent here and how i can use it to my advancement....

Oh and sublime please be careful doing any psychedelics on a balcony, i know as of right now two people who have committed suicide by jumping of off balconies, one was on lsd, the other on dmt, and i finally know why....

Fear plays a big role in it, i notice on DMT if i have any slight fear lurking it sucks my sense of self into seeming chaos, it's best to remain neutral i find.

You have to also accept the possibility the reason you keep being sent into an unenjoyable experience is that there's something you shouldn't be doing, what that is, could be for you to figure out before trying again, it could be your attaching to something going into the experience, like you cant let go of your body or something, it could also be that you shouldn't be doing certain substances, perhaps something in your life needs to be purified first. Not saying this is what it is, but it's possible.

Actually, that is the trick. They see if you can take it without killing yourself, and if you do kill yourself, you are stuck in the loop forever...

I got caught in it on salvia and DMT together. I saw multiple random sequences repeating themselves several times until i just wanted to jump off a cliff. One of the repeating squences was a girl in a cone hat serving ice cream. Then just a bunch of randomness. Quite horrifying but you just surrender and move on

Terror loop? Not sure, I would describe it differently. I have had a time of 4 grams of cubensis where I was experiencing the same event time and time again. Very strong and odd experience indeed.

It is an incredibly dehumanizing experience in which most feel horribly disoriented.
