a foaf let the acidified water boil down to nothing. there was black goo at the bottom so maybe not all hope is lost, but swim is wondering if the project is now a junker.

i think it was left cooking with no water for about 10 minutes at around 150-180F

i realize questions of this type are pretty much only wasting community time, so i thought maybe this would help to give something back:

while burning the brew, i got a 2 for 1 deal on annoying my girlfriend. I ignored her while playing Team Fortress for an hour AND i made the kitchen smell horrible.
yeah! i'm a relationship master!

Nice work there mate
How much starting material did you use?
Hard to be sure if anything will still be there or not.. depends essentially on which kind of acid you used. Melting points for a few are: picrate mp 169.5-170.5°; methiodide mp 216-217°; fumarate mp 152-152.5°

Eitherway, I'd add 1L of pH6 acidic water to the pot and get it to a low rolling boil. Stir the stuff at the bottom, ensure it all dissolves. Reduce to about 500mL and continue as you would have

Either that or just heat up the bowl until the residue goes oily again, then take the heat off and add some flour and work it in until you have a resin. Divide the resin up into approximated 200mg doses. Preload (30mins) with some rue and swallow

foaf used vinegar, not sure which kind of acid that is.

starting material was an unknown amount of viridis, eyeball guessed at about 125g

yeah, i followed your directions, figured i'd just carry on as though no error was made.

edit: i looked it up, vinegar has acetic acid, with a boiling point of 244f (118c) does that mean that product won't be ruined unless temp went above 244f?

Salts usually have a higher bp/mp than the base so the spice-acetate would be more stable with much higher bp/mp than the crystal base.
Definitely worth a re-work.
