Suggestion: fire extinguishers to health & safety section

Migrated topic.
people all over the world are told to have a nice relaxed setting with low light while on DMT. candle light being a suggestion. try being in some whacked out trip and trying to deal with the candle as it knocks over and starts the carpet on fire! this is the exact reason why I dont use candles!
extinguishers are an all around the house great idea!

I am suggesting it more because if you are extracting DMT you really do not want the fire department and cops coming in your house. What if you have some naptha evapping in the window and a pan of frying oil catches fire? The officials will still see that naptha in the window even if thats not what started the fire.

And on this site I have seen more accidents involving fires by far than other groups of people seem to have.

You can get them for as cheap as $15 and they can save your life and your freedom. It might not be a huge chance of needing it but you dont ever want to be in a situation where you need one and didnt spend that $15.

nice setup!

oh and if you are talking about extinguishers for the kitchen and tripping. then you need one for grease fires and one for cloth & wood. those are different and need to be addressed as such. grease fires are hard to put out!
I have both kinds just incase!

ive been close once too, had a hot fan blowing on my naphta in the kitchen, then at the other side of the room i turned my gas stove on!

Right away a stream of fire ignited the naphta fumes but luckily i was able to turn off the stove before it reached the naphta container.

Can something be added to the health and safety page to encourage people to get a small fire extinguisher?

I definitely feel like this is a step in the right direction. It should added to the list of materials for all Teks which require flammable solvents.

Good call Elru. :)

Definately it's a good idea to have one, even in any household.

It can't be over emphasized how important it's to keep naphtha and burning stoves separate! I have done the same mistake because of my stupidity! Luckily only lost some hair on my arm:)

Sounds like good advice to me, I think a standard ABC Fire Extinguisher would work just fine for pretty much any fire that would be caused by the chemicals involved in the teks available on this site (fire extinguisher code: A=paper/wood, B=grease/oils/solvents, C=electrical, D=metal fires [think magnesium ribbon burning], and K=cooking [mainly for restaurants])

Actually if you have a fire in your house YOU DO WANT the fire department to come.

If you have a fire in your house YOU SHOULD CALL 911 IMEDIATELY!!!!!

A fire extinguisher IS a good thing to have around. A fire extinguisher in the hand of someone who doesnt know how to use it can be dangerous.

There are several types of fire extinguishers Class A,B,C,D,K. Class B is for flamable liquids..

It is very common for people to delay calling 911 attempting to put a fire out and the result is a fully involved structure.

If you are going to attemt an extraction use some common sense, please. I agree, a propr extinguisher is good to have in any home.

If you cant safely perform any of the extractions outlined on this web site, you should not be attempting it.

There is NO reason to have open flame anywhere near combustable/flamable liquids during an extraction.

Leave the firefighting to firefighters. Dont be stupid!

life safety and preservation of property is more important than you getting in trouble for being stupid.

Catch your appartment or house on fire, the first thing you do is call 911. If you want to play fireman after that go ahead.

Forrest Gump Said-

Stupid is is stupid does

If you want to be stupid dont involve innocent people and property that does not belong to you.

Sorry I am coming off soo extremely harsh here. Lets just pretend I know a little something more about fire than the average person.
