Syrian Rue Extract Potency

I completed an acetic acid (white vinegar) extraction on syrian rue in August of 2011. I still have around 5g left of extract that has been sitting in tin foil in an airtight container with no light since then. Has the extract lost its potency? Would it be dangerous to take a dose (with no spice) just to test its efficacy?
