Looking at tartaric acids solubility in various alcohols (~1g/3ml), it seems like it would be a great acid to use instead of fumaric acid in acid saturated dry alcohol/limo precipitations. You'd end up using mere drops of alcohol if you saturate it with tartaric acid, but prob want it less concentrated so it does not just crystallize out of the limo without grabbing a mescaline molecule on its way out.
Still, it would be cool to use less alcohol (& traces of water, if you don't have fully anhydrous acetone/iso).
Has this been pursued at all? Any reasons why tartaric acid would be unsuitable for mesc precipitations out of limo?
Also, How about malic acid? Both of these seem like they have potential advantages over fasi/a, most importantly much more soluble in dry alcohols than fumaric acid.
