No. You want inner root bark. This stuff is just regular bark and does not contain the goodies you are looking for.
Some have reported there are alkaloids in the tree bark ranging from .1 to ,35% but I tried an extraction on this stuff before because I was not paying attention when I bought it and the price was cheap. My extraction yieldes nothing, and there are various other reported failures on here. I've yet to read about anyone successfully extracting the stuff, but I guess theoretically possible you will yield something but doubtful in my opinion.
