Testing extraction variables: collaborative work thread!

Ok so here's the deal.. There's many methods out there of extraction of different psychedelics, and there are all sorts of variables that can affect yield and purity of products, from chemicals used, to time, to temperature, etc. So I think it would be very useful to have a collection of comparisons of different variables in one place for easy consultation (and then we can add it to the wiki when more information gets pooled in).

For you guys: Please either mention the results if you did test these variables, or can link to threads/other pages that show these tests, or can suggest new variables that would be interesting to know.

Whenever someone is doing an extraction and has the means and patience, one can test one of these variables and add to our collective knowledge.

So here it goes. :


TESTS TO DO:

DMT:
-FASI vs Vinegar evap-freebase conversion (im doing this test now, will post when results are in)
-A/B vs STB
-BLAB vs STB with limo
-Amor Fati's non toxic conversion of dmt freebase (pulling inactives with water) vs pulling actives with IPA/Acetone

Harmalas:
whole seeds vs grinded seeds




and


TESTS DONE:


-Conversion of dmt freebased from acetate pulling with IPA vs pulling with acetone

RESULTS: 1 test indicates acetone pulls exactly the same amount as IPA. acetates freebased and two separate batches pulled 3x with acetone vs IPA, infused in two separate batches of changa to yield exact same weight.

ok guys, so one test was made:

First two limo pulls in 400g bark and salted with vinegar.. This was evapped to yield acetates, that were freebased making a paste with sodium carobnate. This was dried, and the resulting product powdered and divided in 2 glasses. Each was soaked with either IPA or Acetone, in equal amounts. 3x pulls were made, infused in separate batches of caapi leaf, and the results came out 1,8g freebase from both!

CONCLUSION:

Acetone and IPA work just as well for pulling freebased acetates.

Damn, it would have been real cool to do this with three pulls side by side so that the acetate to fb via heat could be compared to both pulling with acetone and pulling with IPA. Great experiment though, good data to have and seeing as there's no difference, people can use whatever solvent they're more comfortable with.
