I will just chime in here to note that the problem with quoting thinkers from the past lies in how RADICALLY the world has changed EVEN in the last fifty years (and even Einstein has already been dead for about sixty years).It seems quite plausible that they would say completely different things if they could have the advantage of living in the present.
