Does terschekii actually have a history of human use?

I've seen somewhere in the world of the interwebs an account of a ceremony involving Tersheckii but I can't find it right now. It was interesting because they actually re grafted the tip onto the remaining stem base.

I saw this painting (date 1500 a.c) in Valle Fertil - San Juan, a place full of terschekki.
