It has been circulating that new wearable devices will be dubbed "Web 3.0", but i think the term might ned to be applied to something more imminent and something that will change our experience of the web through the nature of the content rather than the nature of the device that delivers it:

2014: The Year America Broke The Internet

I hereby dub the next generation of information dissemination, regulated and controlled by ISP providers, "WEB 3.0".

Any comments?

(And for the love and lust of all that is holy and arousing, no CTs please!)

Cheers,

Wow. that pic of the internet in 2005 is intense. Reminds me of a brain.

Other than that it sounds like the internet is going to start being controlled by corporations. I dont like the sounds of this at all.

I imagine there will at some point be a break off of into multiple internets.

One option would be form an ISP company that refuses to throttle and refuses to censor or hand over packets to the authorities.
Such a company would quickly become the ultimate leader ISP, be the richest company in the known world and could defy governments as they saw fit.
They would be gods in the eyes of the tech world.

Until the government nuked their hard lines of course. :|

Actually a fairly likely thing to happen by the sounds of it.

And Endlessness, thanks - I had not heard of the Outernet. Very interesting project!
