The Time Meddler A.D.43 to the Nexus

Migrated topic.

The Meddling Monk

Rising Star
hello Nexians as i've been told you're called :)

i am a male 43 years of age and generally handy, but my workmates and me like to rave about all matters scientific and spiritual (after a c**n or two) between the finer matters of master building

i attended a little university, but wanted to travel the world and meet girls more at the time. somewhere between england and india and old school deadheads i heard the fables of the substance (D) and of the mad prophet Terrence. it was revolutionary times. but it was like the holy grail back then. you were lucky to meet someone who'd tried it, let alone could tell you much more.

as i've matured to appreciate staying with one woman, and learned the responsibilities of fatherhood, and time as a monk, and patience. i see many new prophets these days. of every persuasion and motivation. and youtube videos. far out! my first experience of the pipe was in a very well connected friend's living room, with just them and one other person. it was said to be wattle resin. women were calling it dear mother tree. men demitri. people talked about having mental-sex with giant mantises! or god or the devil! it was like orange wax. one puff. friend said hold it in. next i sitting in the middle of a circle of north american native dudes with different kinds of pipes. which i wasn't expecting. and told me things it's taken me two decades to fully integrate and remember. i'm wondering, Nexians, are they 'entities', or ghosts? have others had an experience like this?it was kind of quite realistic in a dmt kind of way.

last up, i used to subscribe to the old entheogen review under de korne, and that was the last time i remember such a fast moving wave of exploration, change and networking that seems to be coming back again. at least here at this place. as i was pretty handy, and knew about safety and solvents from working as a spray painter, it didn't take many entheogen review issues to work it out. my generation was fed on de korne's book, and McKenna's.

thank you for having me and hope to be of help, even in just some small way, if i can :)

yours sincerely

the Meddler

Welcome Monk, I am a little younger than you but I remember reading a few issues of TER in my early twenties (and the scanned copies I have now are a little treasure for me), and the comparison is quite apt. Just push up the mass to make it near-critical, speed up communication to current internet standards, and you have the Nexus :)

Let's hope our momentum is, in the long run, even bigger than DeKorne's.

Right on! Vosdel. really nice welcoming thank you.

And hello and big thank you wearepeople! I must say things have come a long way since de korne/mcKenna after following your link! well done Nexians.

Hello The Meddling Monk,

Welcome to the Nexus. I am a Nexian very (within a year or two) close to your age and always appreciate that more and more of us are joining this place all the time.

Like you, I spent a huge time, knowing about DMT but only in fabled form - referenced in a few classics on psychedelics, as well as my husband having smoked non-breakthrough doses back in about 1968 - back then all the (rather rare) DMT was synthetic.

I was very fortunate to be able to get all of the Entheogen Review articles on CD back when they made that offer. Those were heady days and I love those articles - there were some real trailblazers back then. I've posted several .pdf files of ER articles in the Hyperspace Tavern here in the past.

Given this personal history, I was super pleased to re-enter the psychedelic scene a few years ago and stumbled across Noman's "DMT for the Masses," as well as the Addendum in later ER issues. The Jungle Spice article by Entropymancer led me to reading the notes in the back which had quotes from folks here and here is where I wound up.

I'm so glad you found your way here too. I do hope you will enjoy your time here. Incredible amount of information and research concentrated here.

Again, a warm welcome to you.

Thank you for the warm welcome Pandora! Nice to be able to converse with 'my generation' too :).

Wow, times sure have changed since E.R. I didn't realise how involved Entropymancer was in the development of modern 'Spice' technology.

While I haven't smoked DMT a vast amount in 20 years (maybe meddle a few times a year at most) it is certainly still just as amazing and mysterious today as it was in my earlier life.

And thanks for being such a kind welcomer of new nexians Pandora :). You do a great job!
