It is found abundantly in an arid region where it is the only plant that is actually happy to grow. In fact it is so abundant there that local farmers consider it a pest and are very happy for people to come and dig it out of their land for them (only to have it pop up again and again.) Still, if mimosa were to be brought to australia, it could become the new cane toad. I am not sure if that would be a good idea..
