Emotiv is definitely onto something, but commercially we wouldn't be able to get the real GOOD stuff the gub'ment currently has.

The problem is that the computer is only as smart as it's programmer.

We don't have self aware AI (at least again, not commercially) but we DO have plenty of ways that WE tie into machines, ie Symbiotic. We've been using them in attack helicopters for years...where you move your head, the firing cannon follows. Certain military bombers also have symbiotic circuitry in which it ties into the pilots emotional state and given the mental and emotional state of that pilot, he's either able to successfully "drop the bomb" or the firing system shuts down if a non-normal response in emotional state was detected. A rocket scientist named David Adair who (I'm totally convinced of this story) came across some alien technology and described it in fairly good detail, Here he starts talking about it at 6:45. (The video has a couple of parts where it repeats about 15 seconds of the story, I guess it's from editing the video)

What we're talking about here is a little more advanced...having something be able to take things OUT of your mind. Again, another problem with this is the fact that the binaural beat doesn't really even exist as an audible tone, it's just a resonating culmination of 2 other frequencies and vibrations that causes the phantom one.

It's so damn cute and tricky! It's so simplistic but so friggin' difficult all at the same time, because we could all rationally just say "Can't we do something with sensors and tiny microphones?"

But how do you record something that isn't really there?

That's what I'm trying to find out.
