I wanted to say 'thank you' to you all, providing the content and to those keeping this forum running!
There is so much interesting stuff in here and after reading into the annoying entities and jester threads i conclude this must be made by a trickster
:
every time i look in here with initial focus on a special topic, I get trapped by the incredible many and good stuff, which overwhelms me (I started a notes file with links to interesting threads which i need to read).
Me and DMT
I'm new to DMT, did my first extraction and I'm experimenting with my setup for vaping.
I have some background in mushrooms and LSD with a special relation to LSD.
My health condition was quite bad some time ago (vaccine induced cytokine storm which resulted in exhaustion of immune system, neurotransmitters and me; including enduring insomnia).
In the deepest depth, after many month of torture, I was ready for suicide. It was not a depression, just the conclusion that I can not stand this sleep deprivation while trying to keep the job, family life running etc. and none of the 'experts' could help me.
What psychedelics did & do for me
Then I stumbled across psychedelics and their healing potential (I do not mean the psychological healing, which I treasure also, but the concrete effect on the body, neurotransmitters etc.).
So I delved into all research I could find, especially on micro-dosing and decided to take a last chance with LSD. 4 weeks after starting an every 2nd day micro-dosing schedule conditions have been much better. I think the immune-regulating and effects on the DMN in relation to insomnia (especially LSD*1?) are underestimated.
And here I am, still; psychedelics literally saved my life! I still micro-dose 3x a week, and together with some other plant substances (esp. cats claw) situation is more or less stable, now since many months. However reducing any of them (I tried this), sends me back to where I was. So I keep my schedule even with the possible (small according to my understanding of research) risk of long-term side effects. I'm well aware that every day is a gift and the days I got and get are worth the risk. (side-note: if here are some researchers interested in my story, blood sample values from then an now, interested in studying the long term effects, feel free to contact me).
My approach to trips
Compared to what I read here, I'm late to the party (regarding age of first ingestion) and I'm inexperienced (reg. number of full trips).
I had some mushroom and LSD trips (silent darkness), plus some experiments with intermediate doses and meditation.
I'm with vovin: to me tripping isn't the center, but a tool among many tools (like meditation), which I for me use as an infrequent stimulation, trying to make of it as much as I can -> long integration periods.
What about DMT:
DMT acts again differently and I'm interested to see what my relation to it might be, regarding both, the 'instant' effects after inhalation as well as the following weeks after.
I'm not going for 20 trips in the first 2 months. I have my concerns with this approach, although I can understand why some take it.
Oh boy; this has become a long thread, sorry for this
*1 I tried to replace LSD by mushrooms because one can have its own supply. However the different set of receptors involved (with LSD there is also the dopamine side involved) makes a strong difference to me. In fact, I can not achieve with psilocybin micro-dosing what i 'need'. So for micro-dosing I'm using LSD.
Side-note: I feel the micro-dose; I think the definition you should not feel something is not well done. I'm quite sensitive and with a bit training I clearly feel the difference w/o even small micro doses. The overall feeling has a good part of 'gut contribution' (lots of receptors also there).
I also feel that it is to coarsely glossed over psychedelics, and its a pity that current research does mainly ignore LSD (for historic reasons as far as I understand).
