First vape experience last nite. Wasn't able to procure milligram scale, so had to chance eyeballing dose. Erred on the side of caution such that required three hits of increasing size before actually experiencing visuals. Incredible, but short lived. No breakthrough, but still amazing, particularly when considering the ease of isolation of this substance.
Note to self: research extraction method suitable for lawn clippings.
After vape experience, am even more curious about oral administration in combination with maoi's. The idea of a longer experience is intriguing.:thumb_up: :thumb_up:

I've not had a real successful attempt at ayahuasca yet (once I made the brew too foul tasting to stomach and second time with pharma I purged within 20 minutes of ingesting the dmt and any trip that was developing disappeared.) but so far I've found oral caapi / rue + changa the best to work with. It reminds me of what others talk of ayahuasca. I like it in that you smoke and you have this incredibly deep experience and then as you come out of that you're still very much under the influence of dmt for a while so it's much easier to integrate the peak as you're still in the right form of mind.

Thanks for the input. Rue extract and red caapi are readily available thanks to the kindness of a stranger turned friend. I would like to keep things natural if possible, but at the same time I feel safer using isolated extracts because they can be measured both qualitatively and quantitatively. No guessing games or unpredictable levels of active substances. Still, expediency counts for a lot, and I have learned to work with what is at hand. When dealing with powerful hallucinogens I would much rather err on the side of caution.

Second vape experiment took place about 50 minutes ago. Finally secured method of accurate dosing, and decided on 23mg after researching dose levels in relation to results. First experience instilled a healthy respect for this substance, and descriptions of effects found in other posts lead me to conclude that I had experienced an approximate 20mg effect when eyeballing that first attempt -- even if it did take three hits to achieve threshold.

Turns out that I was just about dead on. This second experiment was more powerful than the first, but not overwhelmingly so. Still, I can't help but hold this substance in high regard and view it with great, great respect. I can see how a high enough dose would blast one right into an o.o.b.e. To be honest, I am not sure I even want to try anything in excess of 25-30mg; I don't feel a need for such an experience.

This is definitely NOT a drug of abuse. It is in no way suitable for use by anyone looking for a "high" -- the experience is just too intense. Still, it IS both interesting and educational. Even in the short time it lasts when vaporized, insights are gained. I may, under proper conditios (set, setting, and most importantly, supervision) decide to attempt a breakthrough dose, but I will have to think long and hard about it, and wouldn't even try unless I was absolutely positive it was time for such an experience.

As things stand now, however, I think I'll wait. Perhaps once I become more accustomed to such intensity. I have to ask myself: do I even want to become used to something so powerful?

I must agree with the previous poster... DMT is really the light so you can see the teacher... the teacher being rue or caapi (harmalas).

Btw you can also buy the pure harmalas... a mix of harmine and harmaline freebase is nice. Harmaline is very dreamy, and harmine is very speedy, so they go together well. THH should be back on the market soon hopefully, but that is for oral dosing. Personally I just go with 10x rue as it is far cheaper and easier. You can figure out the dose that is right for you with only a few trials usually. Caapi is really variable in terms of the alkaloid content.

The thing to consider is, what is causing the desire to use or not use any substance? What causes thoughts to arise? Do you know what your next thought or urge will be? Is there anyone steering this ship?

Having spent years in vipasana meditation, the arising of thought IS an observable phenomenom and one having cause. All causal phenomenom may be regarded as illusary, though to the consciousness experiencing the thought that illusion is necessary in order to create experience. It is experience that offers opportunity for learning, and karma that determines the nature of the experience. All is interconnected. As for who may or may not be driving the ship, even the Buddha declined comment.

Desire to not use a substance is, at least in this instance, motivated by insecurity (fear). Which is more acurately described as a desire for security, an attachment to a sense of self (ego). The desire to use a substance is, at least at this time, a combination of a desire for knowledge, coupled with residual patterns of thought motivating a desire for fun/pleasure. Neither of which are either valid or invalid -- they simply are. The decision to use or not to use is best made when in possession of an understanding of these motivating factors and an acceptance of their influence on thought and decision-making.

Have experienced several more vaporization excursions and attained sufficient familiarity to where I feel ready for the longer ayahuasca experience. It's now simply a matter of finding the time to devote to it. My day to day is heavy with responsibility and lite on me time. Nonetheless, I am determined.
