It's pretty common to have uncomfortable trips on Salvia, probably more so than with any other substance. Don't take it as an indication of how you might respond to psychedelics in general.

When I was a lot younger I was always after the deepest, most intense trip experiences possible. And although I still occasionally seek these, I've also learned that there is a ton of insight to be gained from sub-breakthrough experiences.
