SWIM first tried DMT in a similar manner to you and says she has much more stable journeys now that she extracts her own.  One thought would be that part of her feels more relaxed knowing the purity of her product, though it had never really crossed her mind before joining the Nexus.  She believes that the investment of care an extraction takes adds something unspoken to the experience.
