So, there is already a movie and book bin thread. But those are for "good" movies and books.
But what about movies and books that transcend all of the just "good" works, and are part of your essential watching/reading?
This thread is to compile all the timeless classics. If there were going to be a vault with limited but undefined size, what movies and books would you want preserved for all of time? This isn't a compilation of just what you like. It's to compile works that are accessible to anyone. Otherwise, i would be spamming Dragon Ball, but it's fairly inaccessible to those who haven't watched any of it, so it won't go on my list.
Please separate the categories. Movies are self explanatory, with books being classed as fiction, non-fiction and philosophy. TV show category is also good. If there need to be more categories, i'm all ears. Or eyes, since this is a text medium.
If you've already posted your list and want to make additions, just edit your existing post to make a more cohesive personal list. Write all of your timeless masterpieces, and don't worry about having repeated entries by other people. The more prevalent a certain work is, the more it speaks for its value. If you see something on someone else's list, and you wholeheartedly agree with that addition, add it to your own.
