Hi guys an gals ,, I'm a noob I and have only had 10or so trips to the great beyond on DMT. and I did the one thing Terrance McKenna said ( I GAVE INTO ABANDONMENT , AND DIDNT WATCH WHAT THEY WERE DOING ) so I don't no if I broke through or not but alls I no is where I went there was so much beauty and wisdom just floating in the air ,, but as I do in dreams , I don't look around ! and I was wanting some advice on how to anchor myself so I remember all what I saw not just a few rid bits ,, although don't get me wrong the tid bits are exueberratingly beautiful but is there tips or ways of learning to remember more with every visit as I think it's all to important not to remember !! Thanx

Do it more is a somewhat simple answer. Do it more, and write down as much as you can. As you do it more, your expectations for the kinds of goings-on there will increase, and your memory is more expectation based than you may realize. There have been other threads on this, so do a good search

The more you do it the more you remember .
Take notes write stuff down. Things repeat after a while
Certain things become more familiar over time .

There are themes and different flavors to the experiences
I found it harder to remember with just plain spice . Introducing
Caapi leaf or tea helped in the remembering .
Caapi adds a teaching /
Protective
Element that can prolong an experience allowing
For more remembering potential .

You can remember. sometimes it has felt like the
Felt presence would like it better if we didn't remember .
But that could be a projection .
Perhaps it's just the pure indifference of nature I'm picking up on .

Isn't the quote "don't give in to ASTONISHMENT"?...

I terms of remembering, I tend to to tell myself in words (assuming I am capable) what is going on in the trip while it is happening (I am in a nursery room. there are 5 people, a male adult in a button down and 4 kids; this looks like I am inside a snake turned inside out; hey wait - that is a VAGINA!. And yes, those are all real examples!). And then when I come back, I wait until the afterglow is just starting to fade and either write it out in full or take key notes, to write it up later.

In my opinion, language is key, even if there is no language to describe that which resides beyond the periphery of description and words and alphabets.

Cheers,

I find that music helps me bring back memories. Often times I will have a breakthrough while listening to a certain cd or song, and then every time I hear that song for an undetermined amount of time afterwards, I usually get vivid recollections of moments from my journey.

Yes, I've seen that exact one actually.

The vagina trip! That was quite an amusing journey, jbark.

Yeah, start writing stuff down as soon as you are able to hold a pen or pencil again ;) It really does help.

Yes, I was going to mention music, but it slipped my mind. I've noticed that music can be sort of like a mental bookmark. Since we have few labels for the things we see in hyperspace, sometimes hearing the same part of a song you heard in hyperspace is enough for your brain to go "oh yeah, I was seeing this (sequence of) image(s) when I was at this point in the song."

Do it more and meditate more would be my top ones. I think meditation can help since the more calm/coherent you are going into it and during it, the easier it seems to be to remember

To remember after the fact you can also just smoke a low dose...I remember a lot more about my past experiences when contemplating it on even just a very mild amount of changa or pharam/aya

I like doing a 15 minute meditation/ preperation ritual before each one, it helps bring the memories of previous experiences back and helps center me so i can focus more fully and better absorb it... it also helps give me good vibes going in. I always listen to music before and sometimes during, which really creates a strong memory association with the music. Once the music guided my trip completely, it was strange but awesome.
