Toluene or Xylene on stb?

would it be possible to use either Toluene or Xylene using nomans stb after the initial pulls with heptane?

I'd recommend Limonene. If you got the choice between those two choose Xylene.

Limonene will pull jungle and take it from my gerbil.... toluene smells STRONG! I can't imagine ever using the rest of my can. I got some Limonene from green terpene and it makes the condo smell like sweet orange goodness.

Definately about limonene for an STB.
Also the good thing about these stronger solvents, unless I;m mistaken, is that NaOH isn't needed as the pH doesn't need to be as high. I'd double check on that one though as I'm not sure that sodium carbonate is abrasive enough to break down the plant matter.

Gerbils have never tried to replace lye. However, I have read on several threads that a STB needs the caustic action to break the plant down.

After the pulls with limonene, is it just a matter of letting it precip out and decanting the limonene? Or is their more?
