trace amounts of THH in syrian rue

SWIM just woke up and remembered this dream.

After doing some precipitations of harmine and harmaline from acetic acid syrian rue extract (both acidic with NaCl and basic with NaCO3 precipitations) SWIM extracted with diethylether. The ether fraction was analyzed by GC-MS. A low level compound corresponding to THH was detected as well as a few other potential alkaloids. Interesting to note that this THH and other alkaloids were not observed in the precipitated alkaloids.

SWIM is being brief but as SWIM remembers more SWIM will post.
 
sorry to bring back an old thread but have you anything else on this topic to post burnt? Alot of people are surprised when they find that harmala seeds do contain THH..
 
Yeah, I'd definitely like some more info on it as well.

On a related note, does anyone know the PKa of THH? I couldn't find it on the wiki or google. I could only find the PKa's for harmine and harmaline.
 
I guess it depends on how "trace" it is.

If I can get 200mg out of a 200g rue extraction, it would definitely be worth my while to try to isolate it. Even if it was less, I'd just keep it in a separate container and add to it each time I do an extraction until I had enough for a decent dose or two.

It would also be interesting to do some bio-essays with some real THH to see if all the hype about it is worthy. From what I hear, it's the cat's meow of the harmala world.
