Hey Swimmers...quick bit of info would be greatly appreciated.Swim just took 2 collection jars from the freezer after about 36 hours.there were nice white xtals in both when they came out.Swim let them to dry near a fan. When Swim returned the xtals on the bottom had turned into small translucent puddles. When swim poured out naptha he strained through coffee filter to catch whatever came with the solvent, and those dried perfectly..nice ,fluffy and white.how can he recover the "puddles" of dmt on the bottom of his jars??Many thanks.

the xtals on the bottom had turned into small translucent puddles.

Are you sure those xtals weren't drops of water? It happened to me once... I had small drops of water in the jar which I used for precipitation... Then I thought, "wow, nice big clear crystals!" but alas, they were just ice and melted...

It does sound like water. If the naphtha had dissovled the DMT, there wouldn't be puddles...it would be dissolved in the naphtha and you wouldn't see it.

This happened to me once. I thought I hit the motherload, but it was just some water that had condenced in the tray.

I always use 1/2pint mason jars with a lid tightly screwed on now. No spills, no water contamination, easy as pie to decant, and simple to remove the stuck xtals.

swim once sublimed a small sample of pink spice; it collected on the cold finger as a translucent residue which didn't evaporate, and smelled like fish and plastic

but that is a purification method to get absolute dmt. a freeze precip won't give anything like that

Why did it come out pink & fishy?
Is that a normal thing when cleaning to "lab purity" levels. Or was there a contamination?
I've gotten pure crystals using room temp growing, that came out 100% clear, like glass window panes.
The taste & smell was the same, although much, much less of it than even with the clear-to-white crystals I normally end up with.

I've read a little about "Cold Finger Crystallization" before but most of what I've found was just a mentioning of it in a write up about different subject, or something like that. (to be honest, I've not looked too hard:oops: )

Benzyme, would you want to explain a bit about what it is exactly?

I get that you are dipping a cold rod (?or something?) into warm solvent with the alks dissolved in it.
Then the alks precipitate out of the solvent & stick to the "cold finger" pretty fast. Or even instantly.
Right?
Then once it's dried you can dip it back into the solvent again & again. So the crystals that are already on the rod can act as seeds for attracting more of the alks to grow bigger & bigger formations, by bonding to the crystals that are already there.

I've always wondered how you get the crystals off of the rod, without smearing them & breaking up the structures.
Or is the rod a stiff, yet bendable material that you can just bend & pop off the crystals stuck to the outside?
I suppose it could be a square, or triangle shaped rod too, that way you could just use a razor to scrape em right off. Straight edge, to straight edge.

Cheers!!
