Let's say SWIM has some d-limonene containing freebase DMT, and he wants to end up with DMT fumarate, as pure as possible. He knows pure DMT fumarate can be made easily using FASA, but he doesn't want to use any reagents from the hardware store and has no other source of acetone. Is there any strategy he can use to get high-purity DMT fumarate just using FASW? Or will he just have to cross his fingers and hope that the end product has a high ratio of DMT fumarate to fumaric acid?
