Rising Star
I've recently discovered something very peculiar, and I wonder how many others know of the same phenomenon...
From a single bowl of MHRB crystalline extract, produced from a traditional STB tek - not "DMT" - you can smoke two distinct "medicines", each producing clearly differing effects. You do this by exploiting a difference in vaporization temperature.
When you begin to smoke a fresh bowl, you can very carefully and slowly vaporize the more delicate medicine whilst leaving more heat-resistant medicine in the pipe, if you purse your lips, and draw your breath very slowly and steadily from the piece, as the flame rests ~1.5 cm above the material.
This is how I have always smoked my freebase extract, which was a technique developed to avoid catching the material on fire, which tends to happen if you're overly-zealous initially. However, when I could no longer milk the bowl in this delicate fashion, I assumed that all medicine was smoked, and that the ashes upon which I smoked the medicine were dry. A couple nights ago, I discovered that this is not the case, and that the bowls I had been emptying into my trash were full of potent actives.
This stuff is much more resilient, it won't catch fire easily, and you almost have to apply the flame directly to the material to vaporize it. Which means the smoke is going to be much hotter, and you have to carb very frequently -- or, as I have adapted, leave your finger on the carb and simply open and shut your lips like a fish as you inhale, ensuring that a good deal of cool air gets mixed with the hot smoke.
Experiential notes:
Delicate component
- Less potent (requires more to reach "similar" level of intoxication).
- Much kinder and gentler. Washes away all fears, and fills one with childish glee.
- Visuals are much more detailed and discernible. Entities, hyperspatial "objects", hard-edged patterns. Less focus on color, and more focus on content. Sometimes the visuals simply present themselves as conceptual shapes themselves with no actual coloring.
- A sense of importance and beauty in the experience itself. It's a song, a show, a work of art, and a gift from my creator(s)...
Resilient component
- Three moderate hits is enough to make me frightened to go any further...
- No mercy from this one. Experience is less like a blossoming flower, and more like a hyperspatial nuclear explosion.
- Visuals are vague and blurry, and generally seem to involve a central glowing beacon, with everything sort of revolving around, being sucked into, or being expelled out of the beacon. Color is much more pronounced, with each breakthrough having a different color theme. Interestingly, my first breakthrough involved a neon turquoise-green beacon; my second involved a dark sandy brown; my third involved an incredibly bright "artificial" sky blue.
- So far, the experience seems less like a work of art, and more like a utility, or a tool. It's just raw, uncensored knowledge of the nature of reality, take it or leave it.
- The YAWNING! After this stuff starts to hit you, every single time, you're just overcome with urge to give these huge, gaping YAWNS.
