Typical variety of Acacia Acuminata Root Bark?

Has anyone here had much success extracting from Acacia Acuminata root bark of the typical variety? (As opposed to the narrow phyllode variety.)
I've read that some people have been able to extract at a concentration of anywhere between .5% to 1% and not much higher than that. Is anyone here able to provide more details, maybe a pros/cons list of each type of AARB?

Ideally I would like to be using mimosa hostillis, but it is rather difficult to obtain in my region and any websites that do have it are constantly out of stock. I've seen some others have some success with AARB but I am still left with a lot of questions.

I've personally got 1.5%+out of Acuminata broadleaf variety.

That's definitely the highest yield percentage I've seen someone achieve with simply the broad phyllode variety. Were your initial attempts also this successful or has it taken you some time and tweaking of the method to achieve these results? What form of tek were you using?

But could have just be from a tree with good genetics too.

I wouldn't put emphasis on highest yeilding bark. I'd put more emphasis on growing it yourself and using sustainable methods to harvest as well as learning the process. A plant or 2 could set you up for good. Phyllodes can yeild some surprising numbers up there with the bark. After all they're just extensions of the bark, something to remember.


Keep in mind although some active species yeild less they grow much quicker than acuminata, making them more valuable. There's also conservation reasons etc as well.

Of course everyone wants the most out of their material, there's better ways to source than wild harvesting and buying online (supporting unsustainable practices).

I'm glad that you mention sustainability, when it comes to such precious molecules as these I think keeping them around is very important. It saddens me to know that one day in the future natural sources of saffrol oil for MDMA synthesis may be completely extinct. It's such a shame that such a beautiful drug may not be experienced by future psychonaughts and their peers.

I might look into growing some active compound containing plants myself. Although the legality of it is surely a deterrent. I think knowing that my space dust is sourced ethically is comforting, knowing that this spiritual experience will be around for hopefully millennia to come. It makes me happy to think that the spiritual phenomena that this plant induces can be shared between friends and family and many experiences will be one in the same.

Yeah.. acuminata phyllodes are too good to even bother with rootbark. Its a fairly easy plant to grow so a tree of your own will set you up for life, especially with sustainable harvesting practices.
