Some new info was just received-- it appears that the third, failed OMS pull was air evapped after no CFC precipitation was successful.   A gooey, oily brown substance remained, that has the aroma of a certain spice.     [img:e93ece55b1]http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/5796/omspullresultshz5.th.jpg[/img:e93ece55b1]      The objective observer didn't know why this would happen with OMS but not Bestine, or VM&P Naphtha, and neither did the Texan, who was CFC'ing the VM&P (Fifth pull) successfully with large, white crystals as of the time the Texan was posting their message.    If there was a way to somehow convert this weird sludge into crystal, what could it be? The Texan stated that upon collection and "drying" of the oily goo, Bestine was added to the small jar containing it, and heated by hot tap water to see if it would absorb into the solvent, allowing for precip... but the contents did not appear to dissolve the goo, even after 120 degree heating and agitation, and the Bestine was placed into a separate container, CFC'd, and shown to produce slightly cloudy haze, but no discernible spice.
