Hello Nexus community,

Has been a while since I've been at all active here so you'll have to excuse my slightly off tone as its not often I am an active forum user..

I figured this might be beneficial to some of the many who isn't you that are still looking for a solid and safe source for Sodium Hydroxide online.

   Okay, EBAY. Has anyone got any experience with ordering lye from here? Is it a reliable source? Is there much "heat" associated with ordering from vendors on eBay? Are there papers needed to by signed and such other than maybe a liability release on hazardous materials? Are items ordered from eBay watched for combination's of online purchases like Ive heard they do when people are stocking up for a meth lab?

I currently reside in Canada and as many might have noticed, its most often than enough that you wont find it at the local hardware store.

ALSO, I think it would be beneficial if you could clarify weather your experience is from in the States or Canada, As I'm sure there has to be some difference weather your shipping this in the Us and here.

It seems that even though the infamous red devil Lye has been off the shelves for quite some time, its not hard to find in small quantity's on eBay..

Thanks in Advance!

-Steve

PLEASE BE ADVISED MODS IF THIS ISNT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE, WOULD YOU KINDLY MOVE IT TO THE APPROPRIATE SPOT? -Thanks

I have purchased food grade lye several times over the past couple of years from these guys Lye Depot I think shipping is free. Fast shipping, reliable. The company sells lye for use in soap making, fuel cells, and bio diesle production. They also have a tech grade lye. I just use the food grade stuff. They also sell citric acid and some other useful things.

Hope this helps
