Using less acetone

Hi all, I'm currently cleaning my DMT by dissolving it in acetone, then adding FASA to precipitate DMT fumarate. Since acetone cannot hold a lot of fumaric acid it takes a shitload of FASA to precip all DMT fumarate.
Can I just dump in some fumaric acid instead (in the acetone holding dmt freebase)? This should dissolve into the acetone precipitating DMT fumarate.

I will end up with a product contaminated with fumaric acid but this is no problem since I will perform the whole cleaning process again (convert to freebase, then pull with acetone again and add fumaric acid). After this final cleaning I will water crystallize freebase DMT from the DMT fumarate contaminated with fumaric acid.

Does anyone see any problems with this? Any help is appreciated, I'm running out of acetone..

To report back on this: yes it works. If you add fumaric acid to acetone with dmt in it, all dmt will precipitate as fumarate within seconds upon stirring.
However, if your dmt is impure to begin with a lot more impurities will get trapped in the dmt fumarate crystals because they form so fast.
So if you have enough acetone, just add FASA. If your dmt is very pure or your acetone is scarce this is a good method to save acetone.
