Which virola are you considering extracting from, and which part of the tree? I would be very interested in this

I tried a dry STB on some red resin once using CaOH and acetone. I didn't even get oil :'(

I've never heard a report of the bark that's commercially available being active.

I wonder if for example this resin would yield anything. In theory virola theiodora resin has a large concentration of 5-MeO-DMT. Other parts of virola (bark, leaves, etc) according to publications, often have very low concentration of alkaloids. There is also big variation from different trees even from same species.

That's the source of the resin in question. It was a couple of years back though.

I would like to know..I really want to try 5meoDMT..but from the reports I have read with online virola, it seems I have had stronger effects from wild grasses..

i found a site that sells virola bark from peru, maybe that would be worth a shot...

Resin would be preferable over bark.

I've never read any reports on successful bark experiments.

Seems like resin would be harder to work with and there is resin in the wood itself anyway. theoretically you should be able to get somrhjg from shredded wood. M@¥@ has (I know vendor talk bad) virola peruviana. Shredded. Might be worth a shot. Anyone know the alkaloid content of that ones wood?
Ott claims there's high levels of 5meo and low levels of DMT.

this source is from the amazon directly, however, even if its high in 5meo and low in nn then IMHO why care? why not go all the way?

I have some virola peruviana from the vendor you mentioned, Dorge.
Will report on the Nexus if I had any results (or not...)
My intention is to do an A/B in order to defat, and maybe try different solvents (I have reagent grade hexane, heptane, xylene, DCM, chloroform, iso, methanol, ethanol, and MEK. No naphtha though, based in EC.)

I have several trees of V.Surinamese, about 4yrs old 10-12ft....
I've tucked a bag of leaves in the package sent! For analysis!!!
