[WANTED] Logo for Entheogenic University

Dear Nexians,

For the Entheogenic University we need a logo that represents it.

With logo I mean an emblematic image that can easily be reduced to two colors. It should be more flat than 3d but can contain some volume / 3d elements.
It should contain the following concepts:

plants,
chemistry,
entheogens,
learning
knowledge
Spreading of awareness about entheogens.

You can use symbols, words, sentences, etc.. It should be easily recognizable. The name "Entheogenic University" should not be integrated into the logo.

Its formate should be square-like. This means a circle, a square, a shield, or anything that roughly fits into a square without leaving lots of blank space.

The final admission date for logos will be May 31st. The winning logo will be chosen by ...

This is just a scetch, obviously. Anyone interested in playing with the design, be my guest.

The book withthe molecule is supposed to symbolize knowledge/learning about entheogens. The radiation-lines are spreading but also indicate what else is being learned about. On the right side there are several natural entheogens, while on the left side there are symbols that represent chemistry (a flask, an atom and a water molecule). The greek words above are the famous "know thyself" inscription, from which descend lines to both sides of the circle indicating a connection between knowing oneself and the entheogens/the chemistry involved.

THe central eye symbolizes awareness, perception and knowledge and the indicated triangle obviously has a wide range of connotations. But I didn'T close the triangle as not to make the connection too strong.

[To explain the original symbol a bit: the triangle is the alchemical sign for fire, the eye is the eye of Horus, the Hawk headed god. He's the symbol for the New Aeon, which is characterized by growth, consciousness, love, and self actualization.]

Like I said, it's just a sketch and intended to start the creative process going. Happy designing, everyone.

That's what I thought. While the design is not uninteresting, i'm personally more a fan of simple and clean logos with a message..they're imho more recognizable and therefore have a higher branding value. Excuse the marketing speech, just something to consider.

Not trying to be a douche here giving unwanted advice...

Very good idea Enoon!


I was already thinking for some time about a logo for the Entheogenic University, so this was a perfect moment for me to finally create that logo and enter the 'contest' with it.

The logo is made around your basic recognizable university logo in Greek style, this shows the University part.

Inside the building is a part of a molecule that we find back in several of our beloved substances (check how the DMT and LSD molecules look like for example), this shows that the Entheogens are in the center of our attention.

At the top there is a radiating light that signifies the spreading of awareness about the enthegoens. As a nice plus the radiating light is also the form of how the Inca sun God 'Inti' is dipicted.

For the moment I have added the words "Enthegoenic University" to it to make it a rounded logo, it can however be depicted without it too.


I am rather pleased with the result and I hope you will all like this logo too.

Very nice! Conveys the idea(s) of the E.U. in a -dare I say it- conservative fashion. However may I suggest possibly increasing the angle of the arch/triangle to match that of the great pyramid? Maybe too acute for the design and not traditional (or just dumb:wink: ) but ??

I tried your suggestion but unfortunately it looks really odd in the logo, like the pointy hat of a gnome.

Macre, i like yours for several reasons. First, the font and style mimmics contemporary university emblems. Second, it conveys a message: Mind, Plant, Chemical --->Seeing or: Traditional & Western Ways (Chemicals and plants) --->Seeing. And all that potected by a process of learning.

Thanks, I wanted to go for a style very reminiscent of many a university. I like the way you summed it up. The mind is the home of the progress of self development and the cultivation of knowledge, through the traditions of plant medicines helped along and progressed with modern science.

We have amazing experiences where we "look through the mandela" (metaphorically or otherwise) and take what we can from these experiences. This sight, vision or insight is a major catalyst to our learning and progression.

So it's obvious who i stole from here, thought i could make a variant. Credit to you.
The only thing i would add is the "know thyself" in an arch over the top EDIT: (i don't have greek text).
I also drew one of my own very influenced by what you did Enoon, drew some other funny spoofs i'm not gonna waste your time with haha.
I like what you guys have done so far.
