Water in my d-juice problem!

🤦‍♂️ was warming 500mg dmitri and .5 PG to make cart and beaker tipped over and filled with water. What do I do now with my 100/1/1 water/spice/PG mix?IMG_5953.jpeg

Looks like freebase? First try adding the corresponding amount of citric acid, if you have any, for a 1:1 molar ratio. If you need help with this, have a look for orchidist's salt calculator, there should be a link to that in my sig. Stir that up, maybe best with the beaker in a warm water bath, and with any luck the DMT citrate will dissolve into the PG. Then your e-juice will be ready for use.

Failing that, say if you haven't any citric acid or it just didn't dissolve, dump it all into a larger volume of water, adding acid if you haven't already, then treat it as a normal A/B extraction - basify to pH>=12 and pull with your choice of NPS.

Oh, I see you got water in it (sorry, ADHD skimming skills can be questionable 😁 )

You can try the citric acid bit if that's still mostly PG in the beaker, otherwise do the A/B extraction using the water bath water as your acidic phase to combine with the beaker of borked juice. Did much of the juice end up in the bath?

The PG will dissolve into water but DMT freebase mostly won't. Just make sure you keep all of the water and PG and you won't have lost anything.

No juice got in bath. I picked it up before it backwashed. All I did last night was cover beaker with Saran Wrap. I’m expecting citric acid from Amazon tomorrow. One thing I was wondering is since I really just want the water out of beaker could I just let it evaporate over time and will the dmt remain in the beaker?

Yes, evaporation is another option - you'll just have a small amount of mineral contamination from the tap water (assuming that's what you've used). It may also be possible to dry out the PG a bit by standing it over anhydrous sodium carbonate [before adding any acid!], which would also pick up some of the mineral contamination (calcium and magnesium). I'm not sure about the solubility of SC in PG so if you were planning to try that I'd do a separate test with fresh PG and a dash of water.

Anhydrous sodium carbonate can be made by roasting sodium bicarbonate.

I managed to tilt my beaker and spilled into the heat bath. I added vinegar, then lye and pulled it out with heptane. I recovered about 0.6 out of the initial 1g.

maybe going straight to lye would have worked but only part of the citric acid was dissolved so wanted to make sure it was salted before basing.

How many pulls did you do? And what was the volume of the heat bath, roughly?

Maybe 200ml, i just added a dash of vinegar and moved it to a 300ml flask. 3 long pulls with a magnetic stirrer.

I used new heptane, so probably at least another 0.2g in the solvent i guess
