we are the hope that people can learn to understand each other. and we are the words. i love you.

Migrated topic.
Hey Ayanami... Figured I'd post a response here, even though we've already chatted elsewhere in the forums.

You will indeed find a large number of people here who take the experience seriously. Not everyone gets the same results: some see entities, others don't. Some experience realistic alternative realities, others get nothing but crazy hyperspace junk. But I think these differences have mostly to do with how different we are from each other, how vastly different our histories are. As we were discussing elsewhere, we each have our own personal definition of "real". That's what makes the comparing of DMT experiences so compelling.

Interesting that you bring up telepathy... Probably worth starting a thread on the subject. I think of myself as a rationalist (to whatever degree that is possible for a veteran psychedelic user). So when people tell stories of telepathy, my first reaction is, "show me the mechanism that makes this possible." standing around a candle with a friend on about 400ug of LSD, I had my first telepathic experience, but was able to explain it away by invoking subtle changes in body language, breath etc. as being the communication mechanism.

Later I had two separate telepathic episodes with an artist friend of mine, one on LSD and one on shrooms... In both cases one of us was standing at an easel, the other in a couch, and we were able to mentally "swap places" and take turns working on the piece, even though it was physically the same hand holding the brush. You could even see stylistic differences in the brushwork where each of us had taken turns. This was a particularly striking form of telepathy, very concrete and tangible with a physically observable result. But the rationalist in me still has body language, breath etc. to invoke in explaining it all.

That's what makes the idea of Synchronized Hyperspace Events, as described in the Nexus Projects forum, so compelling. If I were ever able to get back to the longer lasting psychedelics I'd love to dive into that. Right now, new baby in the house means DMT only... 10 minutes of oblivion I can do... 6 hours are awfully hard to schedule these days.

Anyway, welcome!
