Rising Star
So my best buddie Wally the Walrus decided the time was right to delve into the unknown. He had made his spice and had waited patiently until he felt prepared (i.e lots of reading, clarifying etc). He had tried ‘shrooms once but they did relatively little, save for making colours more exuberant. He had also tried salvia a couple of times, but does not think he properly broke through, although he had some interesting perspective on the nature of reality.
Knowing the spice was reputed as the grandfather of them all did put him off slightly, however, the short duration of the experience reassured him since if he was in for a rough time he knew it would be over shortly (although he was aware people said it felt like an eternity!) whereas he wasn’t keen on the idea of 6+ hours strapped in to what might be a bumpy ride.
So, he gathered his spice, and went to a friends house, where 2 friends resided, one of which had journeyed before, the other had not but was a trusted friend with a wide experience of other psychedelics amongst other things.
Going with the general consensus that ~50mg was the breakthrough point, he decided he would warm-up with a 20mg dose first. This was eyeballed by the person that had journeyed before, and had done so using the same spice as was present, and had weighed it when he did it, so therefore had a rough idea of what 20mg should look like rather than pure guesswork.
The friend had built “The Machine” to use, so Wally the Walrus made himself comfortable laying back on a big couch as his friend held the flame close to the steel wool. He could see the vapour forming thickly as he inhaled. He noted that the taste/harshness was not as bad as he had been expecting, especially since he is notorious for not being able to hit the pipe using MJ and even choked on salvia.
He took back as much as he could and held it in, counting in his head to 10 as he lay back and closed his eyes.
Upon exhalation, in the phosphenes he noticed vibrations, and lines that looked like sine waves from an oscillator. This was followed by a 3D/4D circus of patterns that rolled around and folded into each other, and had a tunnel like feeling to them. He opened his eyes once or twice just to see how it would effect his normal vision, but did not notice much and closed his eyes because he was enjoying the show!
He was impressed and intrigued after this. A few points to note where that he noticed that where he was sat he was under a skylight, and the more light there was the more it interfered with the CEV, also he friends made a slight noise and this was also distracting. The vapour had burned his lips and tounge a little, and they were also numb, so this was also distracting.
After 30 mins and watching his friend sit through a breakthrough dose, and hearing his recollection of his experiences (which included entities in the room with OEV), Wally felt he was ready for a larger dose.
He sat back into position and this time borrowed his friends beanie hat to pull over his eyes to stop the light disturbing him, and made sure his lips and tounge were out of the direct path of vapour when inhaling from the machine. After inhaling as much as his lungs would allow, he held it back for as long as he could, and felt the spice gripping him. He pulled the beanie down over his eyes and lay back.
Again, sine waves, and a feeling of “ahhh good, you’re here again, welcome back”. It is difficult for Wally to express exactly what he saw, and is disappointed because it doesn’t make for good reading, and also his memory of the experience faded a lot afterwards.
He remembers being in a room with moving (alive?) walls, colours a mixture of black, green and orange. Everything was moving in and out, up and down, inside and out, all simultaneously, but most remarkably, it was all perfectly in sync, like it had proper order, this blew his mind! What stood out the most was he was staring at some wall/structure/thing and the only thing he could think to relate it to was like a stomach cell with microvilli under the microscope, but inside the cell everything was moving and acting on its own accord, he was sure he could see small faces in these components too.
At times, he started to panic a little and was trying to back up out of it, distinguishing what was actual reality. This made him open his eyes a few times. The room appeared to have a burning aura, as did his friends, but also there were clear crystals ice flakes falling in front of his eyes with rainbow refractions coming off them. He closed his eyes again, and frequently forgot which way was up or down, whether his hand was on his head or his chest.
To calm himself, he kept repeating a mantra to himself, and this seemed to help, he then kept telling himself to relax and just watch. He remembers feeling a presence there, it felt feminine and this reminded him of his girlfriend, who’s name was impossible to remember at the time, but he vaguely remembers something hugging him and giving him the feeling of being close to his girlfriend.
The experience continued, and he saw more intricate patterns, and thinks that maybe he saw things checking him out, having a peek so to speak. He then started to come out of it, and strangely was sad to be leaving, even despite the more unsettling parts of the journey, he closed his eyes again to try to catch one last glimpse, to say goodbye until next time.
The next 10 mins were spent uttering phrases such as “Amazing…..absolutely amazing, Wow!” etc and relating the experience to friends.
He thinks he knows now that he only had a hard time because when he saw something of interest, he would concentrate on it and try to explain it, whereas if he had just let go and watched instead of trying to analyze everything (which is muchly his nature) then he would have had an easier time.
He will definitely journey back, but he feels content in knowing that there is no rush, that it is wise to take time to reflect on the last journey before rushing in again and again. Truly a mind-blowing experience and he has found himself daydreaming about it for the last few days, pretty much in awe of everything.
He doesn’t think he broke through proper, but it’s ok, in time it will come, for now he is happy to have glimpsed the edge of the abyss. He is grateful to everyone on the nexus for the advice stored within the forum, because these definitely gave him a better sense of what to expect, and he expects he would have panicked much more had he not read some good advice beforehand.
Sorry for the long post, Wally is known to waffle on sometimes.
