What to do with excess casing

I'm trying a tub grow with grains and coir. My coir took on a lot more water than I expected, though, and I have a bucket of sopping wet excess... way more than my modest tub needs. In an ideal world I'd like to dry it out and save it for next time, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Or should I just toss it in the backyard?

The family fridge is not an option

You have bucket with a lid? Dry/squeeze/drain your coir out to field capacity and keep in bucket. I make up a bucket and it takes me months to use the whole thing, cause I'm only doing a few shoeboxes here and there. I just keep lid on and it is fine. 8)
