Not sure if this is the right place to put this or not, but I had a hypothetical scenario in mind and I was looking not for fact as much as the opinions of others about what a person would do in this situation.
Imagine a person who has bipolar disorder w/ psychotic features. Mood stabilizers help keep the mania under control to where it does not cause problems in this person's life, but it does not help so much with the low end of things. This person has found that psychedelics a few times a year really help put things in perspective as sort of a mental reset and low doses really help with depression in a pinch. They also have a very active professional life and can't be dropping acid and tripping for 12 hours because they simply do not have the time. To this end, they have explored the idea of having a good 40 to 50 years worth of DMT to use as medicine. No sharing, just so this person can have something if they start to feel in a rough spot mentally through the years.
This person knows from reading that DMT freebase is not the most stable form. They know that it would keep for a decent amount of time if kept away from light, oxigen, and moisture, but it would last much longer if the majority was converted to DMT fumarate. They have read about DMT-oxide. They do not feel like it sounds like all that bad of a thing as it has been compared to a "traditional psychedelic." They are also concerned about losing some of their medicine in converting it to fumarate and then back to freebase as needed. Losing medicine isn't good either way you look at it.
If you were this person, what would you do?
