Well... gas exchange is an artificial environment provided to the entire life cycle of the pixies. if the fruiting bodies are grown in an air tight ... canister...they will grow to miniature proportions. However they will fruit , so the amount of circulating air is tantamount to yield.

Practically, your yield is the psilocybin/psilocin, not the amount of mushroom mass. do you know for sure that these small mushrooms growing in airtight container also have less actives/mass?

When growing Copelandia cyanescens in particular, it is down to CO2 levels. Excess carbon dioxide acts to retard fruiting, thus air exchange is essential for healthy mushroom fruiting.
