Wiki recomending irreversible MAOI on Pharmahuasca article?

Migrated topic.

fathomlessness

Rising Star
"The purely synthetic MAO inhibitor Marplan is suitable in place of harmaline and harmine, although caution should be taken as this is an irreversible MAOI.[1]"

"purely synthetic MAO inhibitor Marplan is also suitable in place of harmaline and harmine (Ott 1996, 34)."

Is this correct? I am surprised to see Marplan there and not Moclobemide, let alone Rue.

Does anyone have an account to edit this in?

It's correct insofar as it is referencing Jonathan Ott's work. Without actually digging out the book I do seem to recall that he mentioned Marplan as an alternative to harmalas.

Anyone can edit there; just hit the Edit tab and start typing away. You don't need an account.

I wonder if that was because Moclobemide wasn't available to him then. I think it would be best to update it at least to give other the correct information about the safest MAOI to take.

I just can't edit it because they have the bans on all IP's I use.

Perhaps one our others will edit it at a later time (not right now -- because that would make our others IP public)
