Will Naphtha melt or dissolve HDPE

Hi. SWIM has been using STB with great success. SWIM has been brewing in quart jars. He now wants to know if he can just add the Naphtha straight to the HDPE milk jug without any harmful effects. Does anyone have experience with this?

Naphtha won't dissolve HDPE, so you're safe. If you doubt about a certain containers resistance against a solvent or acid, why don't you just try it? Apply some of the solution to an isolated part of it, let it sit for a few hours and then check for damage. With HDPE and naphtha, there will be none.
