"Wizards of DMT" extraction process?

Hello all! For anyone who has seem the episode of the show "Hamilton's Pharamacopia" called "Wizards of DMT", I am wondering if anyone knows what process the husband and wife are using that yields the orange-colored granular looking spice? I'm curious how they get that kind of spice...is it from the particular strain of bark they use? Different chemicals being used? I've only used the gordo Tek method thus far, and I'm curious about the other methods. Thank you in advance travellers! :twisted:

there's a lot of misconceptions behind the color of spice.
in most instances, the color has to do with solvents used, and how much the product is exposed to air, as well as the temperature it's exposed to. a freeze precipitation will often give a white product, as heat accelerates oxidation.

they probably used naphtha, like most do. slow evap at room temp gives large crystals, that tend to be yellow/orange.

Ok, I figured it was probably something like the solvent used or what have you. The say they used "hexane and Naptha", then evap under high pressure sodium lamps. My extractions are all white fluffy snowflakes!

I had a rainbow of colors from my extraction, even from the same batch of MHRB.

It depends on the oil content, solvent used, how much heat was used etc.

Even pure DMT can yellowish as it has polymorphic crystalline structure and one is off white.
