Had an "excess liquid" jar that smelled pretty strongly of the odor of spice, so FASA was added and fumarate crystals precipitated. These were dissolved in water and the solution was left to cool overnight.

Now I'm seeing this:
Any thoughts? Smells like DMT, but not as strongly as FB spice. Did I not use enough water and these are fumarates again? Is it possible these are sodium fumarate crystals or something like that?

That is a really impressive quantity of crystals you've got going there.

Is it possible that there is some other molecule in there that is adding to the mass? I'm sure SOME (or even most) of it is Spice, however, getting that much Spice is surprising.

I was surprised too. It was my collection jar and I guess I didn't realize how much I was missing in my initial extraction(s).

I'm wondering if this is DMT fumarate or FB. It did reduce down from what it was before adding water to dissolve the fumarate.

Attached is what it looked like in the xylene precipitation jar.

Here is the majority of what was in the jar poured out onto a coffee filter. The quarter is for sizing.
The crystals smell more strongly as they dry. These *seem* like they're FB crystals, rather than fumarate. I don't have enough experience with fumarates to tell, really, though.

I'd dissolve it in hot water, and lye to ph14 and pull with naphtha. That doesn't look like DMT to me.

Was sodium carbonate crystals mixed with spice. They got very dusty/powdery as they dried until the only these powdered echoes of crystals were left. Used H20 to separate the sodium carbonate from the spice. Got some additional mg. I guess I can't complain.

What was your starting weight, ending weight, and we would like to see some pics of what came out in the end.

Alas, I can't! They have been gifted to an old friend.

Scavenged some very jungly orange/yellowish tacky substance that smelled strongly of spice from the rest--just used a water wash and the dry powder that was left dissolved.

I'd guess it was perhaps 2-2.5 grams of the yellow tacky stuff.

I can only guess what the weight was in those pics, but they were water-logged crystals, basically. Probably a couple of ounces, at least.

And like the wind, they were gone!

You are a big vague as to what you did here, I am missing important steps in your story.

Can you explain how you did your extraction from beginning to end, step by step, and how much starting material you used and what starting material?

Those crystals look FAR from DMT-fumarate and if your friend ended up with some form of it then it might harm him if used incorrectly.

It was the jar into which I collected the sodium carbonate or PH UP basified water washes and tiny amounts of solvent from my sep funnel--100 ml or so over and over when getting the solvent out of MHRB basified solution jars--and then I evapped with a fan to keep using the jar without it running over.

I just used a couple of R.O. water washes on the crystals pictured and they dissolved--they were either table salt or sodium carbonate crystals or both. Anyway, the crystals dissolved and were disposed of in solution. The DMT freebase was insoluble (obviously) in the water and I filtered it out and collected it and dried it very well.

I don't think there's anything out of the ordinary. It was just that I kept evapping liquid from the same jar over and over that made this density appear.

That looks like some pretty clean salt/sod carb. I still don't understand what you did but if you cleaned it that's good. You don't remember what your final amount was?

I'd guess it was 1-2g of putty like material. Maybe a bit more. It was EXTREMELY potent. Typically I eyeball doses--will load about 100mg or something like that into my apparatus and I take the biggest hit I can manage with slow inhaling over several seconds.

It was like my mind was slingshot into hyperspace and I totally lost any understanding of my whereabouts, how I'd gotten where I was, etc. Took several minutes to recover my senses. Definitely the heaviest dose I think I've managed. I don't know what it would be in mg.
