Hello new friends,
This is my first post, obviously. So here is a little bit about myself.
Growing up in a household that was unfamiliar and non welcoming to alternative concepts of self healing and alternative thinking, I quickly began to explore these realms on my own. I wish I had this outlet in my earlier years, while starting my journeys to these wonder filled plains. I have always been more interested in experimentation with mind expanding experiences. When I first moved away to college, I had no interest in trying alcohol at all, but instead, trying LSD, followed by Psilocybin, and then I tried alcohol. Never really stuck with the alcohol. I get frustrated with substances that hold me down consciously, so I don't really drink at all.
Anyways, I also like to make things. Paint, digital montages, sculptures, and functional things that improve my life and others'. I paint live at electronic shows, materializing the energy of the music and crowd. I hope to share some things with you.
I hope to get to know all you a little better.

Hello RippleShip,

Welcome to the Nexus. Thanks so much for submitting that Introduction Essay.

I think a lot of us feel similar to you - both that we had this place earlier in our lives and that we don't really get much out of alcohol consumption. :).

Of course I've got to ask . . . have you tried DMT yet?

I think you will find yourself in good company here and hope that you will go ahead and participate as you see fit. I look forward to seeing your future posts.

Again, welcome to the Nexus.

Ahh Yes. I have tried DMT several times before. I am not necessarily the most versed in those realms, but am getting more and more comfortable with pushing personal boundaries.
I told myself that I would never seek it out and would try it when the time was right and it fell upon me naturally. A friend came up to me in a great time of change in my life and handed me a couple go's, saying it was for my spiritual growth and art. I shared one of these with my best friend, another Nexus member. Inspired him to extract and have had a close relationship ever since. :)

So I have a question. For those who post their art in the art bin, do any of you worry about your professional identity connecting to your Nexus identity? I want to share some work with you all but it's been posted on other social networking sites.

I asked my friends in chat to look at this but they were shy in replying. I think the most logical idea that came up if one is nervous is to post a link to the work but in your post state that it is your friend's work or website, or just one that you found and happen to like.

Hi Rip. I'm interested in your thread title and how you came about to that belief. I absolutely agree 100% and I guess I always knew however have seen too much syncrinicity in affect to now firmly believe in all my heart that this be true.

Recently I was watching two girls dancing infront of me. I recall wishing that I had more eyes in my head and I didn't know where to look. Then I glanced to the side as was comforted by the fact a reflection of myself through another person was there to enjoy the visual feast for me.

I also used to get disturbed by voices, conversations, coincidences and analogies which I would create to make my internal dialogue fit my agenda. I then came to a personal realisation that all men were a reflection of man, and all women a reflection of woman and everything is one. This has caused for me IMO some newfound enlightenment. I was searching for something else entirely but found this. I surprised myself... But then life is full of surprises isn't it. We just gotta continuously check our heads. I guess I always have. Sometimes I've smoked too much and created a lag... However I have always checked my head. This lead me down some paths no-one should have to go... But then I (we) would never have written a life too easy for myself. My heart is so full of love. To love everything is to love yourself. I have no reason to hold grudges or harbour any anger I used to feed off. I didn't know what syncrinicity was. I fell over it by accident. I later found out that Carl Jung had already documented it which made me feel less alone in this world. I then came to the definitive conclusion that he is me anyway... As
is everything that had ever occurred in the universes and in the infinite realities and timezones. I am happy now even when I am sad.. Because I know that I am sad for a reason and that I can learn from that experience.

Again, apologies if any of this sounds preachy or matter-of-fact. I am simply sharing my personal outlook and eager to hear others opinions on this topic (I'm guessing I could probably use the search function and find a topic or two on such).

An interesting question RippleShip:

I'm all for new Art in the Bin...and a new Gallery is on it's way very soon...
I personally strive hard to remove my ID from prying eyes.
All works posted here are under my Nexus moniker and are only posted elsewhere under the same name.
I absolutely will not post to 'BookFace'...once your art is on that site...they own the rights to those images and if anyone profits from it...you do not see a cent. (I also detest their policies and profiteering)
Also, it could go viral and be traced back to you.

There are now 'reverse look up' sites for tracking down images on the net, such as TinEye Reverse Image Search.

If you feel that you may be compromised by posting your stuff, give this a try and see what it comes up with...

You could always make 'New' art especially for the Nexus if your older stuff is problematic.
Rest assured that all exif info is stripped from pics by default when uploaded.

It would be nice to see your stuff...

I post most of my art freely, though the majority of it is Nexus only art that I don't publish anywhere else.
I feel like if someone on this site were to see my work elsewhere that the moniker Loose Lips Sink Ships
would apply and they would keep that identity private :)
It's a pretty tight knit group here from what I've gathered :)

Welcome, and looking forward to seeing some paintings :)

Well, I have always been a firm believer in that we are infinite reflections of everything and everything is an infinite reflection of itself and nature. We create things in likeness of one another and in likeness of nature. It's everywhere. There's no escaping it. My travels with the spice only confirms and affirms this.
As a thread of this beautifully intricate woven tapestry we call life, I experience things, naturally, by doing. As I do, I learn about other threads of this tepestry, thus adapting my thread to fit the most suitably with my fellow threads to be a better tapestry. This is an example of how you are me and I am you. We are all part of the tapestry, so be the best thread you can be.

Hey thanks everyone for the response and encouragement.
Cyb, that site is super neat and is a useful tool, thanks. Also, I enjoy your work very much.
I will share my work with you all, perhaps not saying that it's me though if its posted elsewhere. But at the same time, It's not recognized by thineye...

Thanks. Very glad to have found this joint. Good to know others feel the same way. I never came to my conclusions by reading books or watching documentaries, nor by listening to preachers at a pulpit. I came to my conclusions independently through experience, and affirmation that people have same or similar conclusions, affirms for me that I am on the right path. :D

Peace

Hey friends,
I found this painting I liked and thought I'd share. Can someone please help me move it to the Art Bin?
