Has anyone here successfully converted 5-MeO-DMT HCl into freebase?

I have some HCl and would like to convert it into freebase for reliable vaporizing

Thanks in advance...
 
I guess you could dissolve it in water, basify, filter the 5-meo freebase and re-x with naphta, but I'm no expert.

Do you think that the crystals would crash out when basified? It wouldn't need to be pulled with naphtha?

Im going to try it with 100mg to see if i can do this & report back....

No, please wait for an answer from someone with more knowledge than me. I wouldn't want to be responsible for the tragic loss of 100mg 5 meo ;)
 
Cool, your the second person i've seen suggest to just basify then filter
I'm just baffled because whenever i basify nnDMT i still have to first pull with Naphtha, the crystals don't crash out, is this something to do with being HCl not acetate?

If no-one else reports back i may have to sacrifice 100mg in the name of science, or in the name of god depending on which way you look at it.

Pandora also said the HCl is active when vaporized, so no biggie i guess, i just feel the HCl would be much more unreliable in dosing than using freebase which vaporizes so easily and has recommended doses.
 
I suppose it makes sense that it would bind to the plant material until something more eligible for absorption comes along

By the way, have you tried 5-MeO-DMT yourself?
 
I would use one of the sodium carbonate methods for basifying acetates, as 69Ron reported high pH will destroy 5-MeO. Maybe start with this one? It uses a weaker base, goes relatively quickly and works with small amounts.
 
The only problem i see with that is im sure i read yesterday (in a 'how to separate 5meo from nn' tek) that 5-MeO isn't soluble in acetone, but nnDMT is

I think ill try just dissolving the 5-MeO in water & add sodium carb bit by bit very patiently....
 
Maybe you could put your 5 meo HCL in acetone, add sodium carbonate until the 5 meo is fully dissolved then crash the freebase by adding water ?
 
Double-check with endlessness to be sure, but he gave me these general directions and it definately worked. I mean, I don't have a GC/MS, but the product is hitting like freebase rather than HCl since conversion. The freebase is much stronger by the mg. 2-5 mgs can yield a full on body/soul orgasm and 15-20 the full on profound experience, complete with "white out" memory . . .

Anyway, add a small pinch of sodium carbonate, then wet with distilled water until it is a paste. Let this dry completely, then add acetone. Extract the acetone then let dry and your final product should be freebase.

Sounds like i could do it all on a petri dish, spread it out so the acetone picks up all the basified 5meo...
 
Cheers endlessness, although now im concerned what i received is not even 5-MeO-DMT... something you warned me about.

What i received says '5-MeO-DMT' but in the more detailed breakdown

2-(5-methoxy-1H-indol-3-yl)-N,N-dimethylethanamine

I'm guessing that thanamine is not tryptamine, or does this science jargon mean the same thing?

Appreciate some advice on this, im not testing it until i know 😉
 
2-(5-methoxy-1H-indol-3-yl)-N,N-dimethylethanamine is 5-meo-dmt, its just the IUPAC name for it. So if thats really it, its right. In any case please be very careful experimenting with this, chronic. Do not try more than 1mg first and see how it feels, and raise dosage very slowly! Even the owner of a RC company died once from a mislabelled product.
