5 Meo Freebase that dissolves in water?

heya

newbie to the forums but i hope u can help as this seems like the right place

have been experimenting recently with various forms of DMT and my latest batch i recieved im a bit dubious after an accidental error but hopefully someone can help clarify or help with advise

was sold freebase 5 Meo DMT,the product was looking like heroin in the baggy i had a glass vial i wanted to put it in

thought the vial dried out properley after a quick wash, clean and dry but when i scooped a good 50mg into the vial the substance seemed to easily dissolve into a very small amount of water that must have been present that was not visable to the eye

so now i have small amount of brown viscous fluid in the bottom of the vial and being a little in-experienced with these forms i did some research and im not entrily sure its a freebase form, i guess one way is to test a small amount but i want to be sure first

can anyone confirm this is a normal occurance or do i have a salt version, its also the first time i used this vendor and the first time with pure straight 5-Meo

Solubility:
Soluble in: Chloroform, ether, DCM, acetone, methanol, ethanol (Trout's notes on simple tryptamines). Soluble in (at least) 20mg/ml 96% ethanol (Source).
Hexane/Naphtha/Pet ether are commonly used to crystallize it (Ott 1993, Espamer et al 1967, Morimoto & Matsumoto 1966, etc) , so it is probably moderately soluble in these solvents.
Practically Insoluble in water

probably a salt or a different molecule

there are no accidents! it happened for a reason and im here asking questions getting to know more about all this

what u reckon would happen if i tried to vape a few mg?

You can try and vape it but it could be a salt or a different molecule so you wont know what to expect. Probably not safe. Id just try to find another supplier

Sounds dangerous to me.

First of all, do not mention buying/selling drugs please, that is maybe the most important rule we have, you can read it in the attitude page.

Secondly, regarding your product, you now have something which is NOT what you were supposed to have (as the solubility data shows). Therefore, how can you know it's 5-MeO-DMT at all? what if it's, whatever, radioactive plutonium, rat poison, a novel substance that is toxic at microgram dosages or any other possibility you can think of... ?

At the very very very least, buy some ehrlich reagent and see if it reacts positive to it, maybe get some marquis reagent to cross-check (read my signature link on colorimetrics for more info). Then you might have a bit of an idea what you are dealing with. Then, and only then, should you even start to consider to consume it, at least IMO.

You don't get a second body, at least in this life, so better take care of it properly

will certainly look into ways of testing and TBH its all good lessons for myself and hopefully others in this day and age of not always 100% sure of what you can get

acceptable as long as they don't reveal your identity (so a picture of the substance would be fine)

i was drying the vial in the sun, could the heat of the glass liquify the product?

will test a tiny amount in water again
