A/B vs STB extractions (What do you use?)

I've searched the forum and read through the Wiki in order to find the differences in A/B vs STB extraction TEKs. IS there an advantage of using A/B over STB or vice versa? Does going one route or the other influence yields? For instance, do A/B TEKs have a higher yield?

I can't really seem to find information on that subject. Also, what is your preferred extraction method and why? Until now I've only done a single STB extraction myself so can't really say anything about that myself.

I prefer a modified STB.

I do a 1 week vinager soak and then STB.

Works great.

I've often heard and seen that STB yields less pure product.

I can recommend q21q21's tek as it's hard to get impure DMT with that one. Yields well and it's super easy.

Thank you for all the replies. I've checked the linked thread and I think I'll be going with an A/B TEK next time I'm doing an extraction. The idea of having a purer product sounds very appealing to me. I'm not interested in quantity, but in quality. Now, having a high quantity would be most pleasurable but if that means there are pollutants in it, no thank you.

I'm currently waiting for my 2kgs of MHRB to be shipped to me. I'll check out Q21Q21's TEKs and purchase the required materials.

Just do a bicarb wash then recrystallize with Bestine you get bomb crystals like that through STB.

I used to do STB, but it has been a couple of years since my last. For me there are some huge benefits to A/B that far outweigh the extra steps required:

• Reduction You can get everything down to 20% or less of its original volume.
• Less base needed Getting everything up to such a high pH is not so necessary.
• Filtering Makes for faster separation and makes use of a separation funnel possible.
