A few questions before SWIM begins

Hello Nexus! Thanks to all of you who's knowledge has led to this post.:d

SWIM will be attempting a first extraction today. SWIM has gathered most materials and will be following Noman's tek using powdered MHRB. It is probably a good idea to make a checklist since SWIM has never extracted and has no chemistry experience.

Checklist:
-Goggles, Gloves, Mask
-184g pre-powdered MHRB(taking suggestions on what amount to try first. if no suggestions SWIM will probably use 50-100g)
-Ace VM&P pure Naphtha
-ROOTO crystals of houshold 100% Lye
-Quart distilled white vinegar 5%
-Sodium Carbonate
-Eyedroppers

SWIM will be going to purchase the containers today and wondered if anyone had suggestions on what kind of jars to use and where to generally find them, any specific glass container found to be useful would be greatly helpful as well.
So far it looks like SWIM will be going to the grocery store to find:
-a gallon or half gallon pickle jar
-4 Small widmouth jelly jars
-Shotglasses for RE-X?

Some more questions SWIM was curious about is the amount of water is ideal for pre-powdered bark, Noman's tek says 1.5x to 2x the water, is there a desirable consistancy? also is there any changes to the proportion of Lye/Naphtha needed?

EDIT: Another question SWIM had was about plastic vs. glass vs. metal measuring instruments/containers, which are safest?

Glass all the way! Just make sure to mix in lye very slowly and keep mixing as you do, so that the heat generated doesnt accumulate in one part of the glass and breaks it. Also work on top of a sink or bathtub to prevent problems in case an unlikely accident with the glass happens.

Proportion stated in noman's tek is fine for prepowdered bark too, no need to add more water

Thanks very much ill be sure to use glass, do I need to worry about naphtha touching the rubber part of my eyedropper? I've read its bad and plan on avoiding it, but should i ditch part of a naphtha siphon that touches the rubber and use a new dropper, or will any interaction with rubber/plastic be negative?
