A Guide to DMT Enhanced Leaf (Changa)

Migrated topic.
Thanks - interesting recipe, I will have to try the THH and harmaline freebase, instead of or as well as the caapi tincture. So many possibilities.... :)

Agreed on long changa sessions. It is very suitable for bumping. You can ride in and out of your desired level of involvement for a seemingly endless amount of time. Very nice in a joint with friends: light it up, pass it around, put it out, light up again a little later on, just hang out wordlessly together drifting around in semi-space.

This personal recipe was posted long ago in this thread, worth re-posting to share:

500mg spice freebase
250mg THH hcl
250mg harmaline freebase

- dissolve in acetone

1 gram lion's tail flowers
1 gram indian warrior buds

- dry and chop finely
- mix into acetone solution
- stir often while evaporating
- keep out of direct sunlight
- keep outside with good air ventilation (a nearby fan helps)
- wait until completely dry with no remaining acetone aroma

Makes for a very soothing blend with a wonderfully long afterglow and no burnout. The harmalas bring a high level of euphoric body sensations and vibrations and accompanying spice brings the visual and mind exploration. The ratios of this blend are not intended for hardcore breakthroughs. 1 toke brings a gradual rushing with nice body vibrations, 2 tokes brings the unmistakable settling into the zone, 3 tokes and you're tripping comfortably, more tokes take you deeper to your liking. Works well in a bowl or a joint. A normal sized joint shared between 4 people is perfect.

Enjoy.

I've received my Pau d'Arco today, the positive reactions made me really curious. But honestly i'm a bit dissapointed now. I've tried to smoke some cause it seemed a bit strange to me that smoking bark could be that pleasant. And indeed i find the smoke very harsh and unpleasant, tastes like burning wood! Does enhancing it with spice makes it smoother? I find Peppermint SO much smoother on the lungs...
I've never smoked it by itself so I couldn't remark but I can say smoking it infused isn't the least bit unpleasant. If you're worried just make a small batch using 1 gram of DMT and 1.5 grams Darco, trust me it won't be a lost cause. Just make sure you've got a a nice bong, not a pipe, and pull the cone slowly.

Also ۩ and fractal, it's weird you guys don't rate the Darco - every person I've given it to and most I've heard using it rate it very highly, maybe when you tried it you didn't use a strong enough ratio as I've noted it to be very placid at the higher ratios.

Well, I never did try smoking it...I drink it in tea though for a medical problem with my digestion and it helped so I love it either way..the tea tasts great with honey.

I always used caapi for my changa becasue of the MAOI's..but I got tired after a while of smoking wood so I started extracting caapi and infusing it into mint leaf with DMT...so thats why i never bothered smoking d'arco..

I dont know what is exerting an effect when smoked if anything but I will look into it closer..maybe the chemicals that are in the tea are active when smoked medicinally and will help cleanse the lungs from parasites/yeast so I guess it's a plus.

Only tree to apparently have NO molds or fungus growing in it whatsoever becasue of the antifungal proerties of it...

Interesting, well if you've got some lying around there's only really one thing to do .. ;)

In Europe Pau d'Arco is commonly called Lapacho, the Incas already knew the healing qualities of this tree. I really enjoy the tea, i like the slight vanilla touch. And my digestion is a bit fucked up to...cool to hear that it works! As to you smokey, can't judge it without trying it once so maybe i'll make a small batch...but for now i'm waiting for my peppermint only changa to dry, can hardly wait :)

Well, my relationship with the spice is very fresh and my first breaktrough was kinda rough. On top of that i realized that i need less then most so i prefer to start with a peppermint+spice only mix...when i'm more familiar with it i'll give the caapi combo a chance.

changa with out the addition of a RIMA is a damn waste of time... darco... well its made its way into changa mixes and has a nice good spirit but it does not really add much to the expereince pharmacologically or in effects... changa with it or changa with out it you really cant tell much of a difference.. changa with just darco and no caapi is not changa its enhanced leaf... which people may preffer to just spice but in comparision to enhanced leaf caapi with spice ie changa is really what its all about... lol
the differences are so damn noticeable its ridiculous...
now adding harmine and THH hcl is interesting...

I find it hard to take big enough hits when smoking wood..thats why I havent used d'arco infused with MAOI's and why I stopped using plain enhanced caapi powder..so much better to extract from the caapi, exract from the mimosa and then eavp that all onto peppermint..otherwise my lungs really suffer..

I disagree with you Dorge about the waste of time. I'm sure you are right about the d'arco not adding to the strength of the dmt but the changa that I have made with caapi leaf gave me some side effects that I attributed to the MAOIs. The pleasant taste of the d'arco "enhanced bark" is what makes it for me. I really don't need any extra potency than what I get from a 1:1 mixture. If I would want to get to a higher level I could take another hit. I haven't found another admixture that tastes as good. I have tried mint leaf and it's actually a little strong on the "menthol" kind to taste and feeling for me. I would like to find something that is very pleasant to smoke as a secondary leaf.

Once you meet Changuar,
there's no turning back.

Follow,
for it is the way.

(p.s. memo try mullein it has great absorption qualities, smokes smooth, and the smoke helps repair your lungs. good medicine)

the point I am making is that changa is nto changa with out the addition of the leaf or a vien extract or RIMA to say the least... other wise we are confusing changa with just enhanced smoking mixtures, which the addition of darco alone surely is. if its got asthetic purposes fine... but its not just potency thats looked for in the creation of changa... duration of effects as well as the clarity and guidence of the vine/leaf is what is important and definitive of a changa mix. if one fasts the day of smoking changa the effects are very much like aya in a dieta practice...

hey nice keeny quote by the way!
a good ethanol extract makes the smoking much easier... leaf and vine extract can be added to mullien or peppermint leaf or darco with nice asthetic effects if thats what ones going for...
evap down to a dry leaf or smoking mix and your good to go...
personally kinnikinick and sage with osha root is un... real...

At first I was concerned about calling straight d'arco and dmt "Changa" but I felt that since we are already deviating from what the Aussie definition seemed to be (Acacia resin etc.) that the mixture was close enough for a descriptor. I've been a little leery about using mullien because of reading some things about it's contents such as: Wikipedia: "The entire plant contains coumarin and rotenone...Coumarin is the primary ingredient used in rat poisons. Ingestion of rotenone has been linked as a causative agent of Parkinson's disease."
I'll have to look into the kinnikinick and sage.

"If I would want to get to a higher level I could take another hit. "

Yes but if you make changa with a high enough maoi concentration it becomes more than just a DMT experience and becomes an ayahuasca-esque experience, I mean you are taking ayahuasca..only smoked..much more benificial in my experience as compared to just DMT..it;s more euphorica, intereactive, healing and lasts longer.

Hmmm I never knew that...
I wonder if smoking it destroys, or allows these alkaloids to be absorbed???

Thanks for the heads up!

I look forward to initiation with the Changuar...

 red caapi vine extract
 jurema spice
 blue waterlily extract

...evapped onto mullein + caapi leaf... 1g mullein/caapi leaf : 1g jurema spice plus caapi & waterlily extracts.

Okay then, so to save on confusion we'll call pau darco (calea, lotus etc) enhanced leaf and we'll call changa enhanced with cappi leaf (maoi).

and I look forward to hearing about your travels, Dimitrius.

I made changa with caapi vine and salvia apiana(white sage) as a base before and it was nice..I think the thujone in the sage made it stronger..

Thujone increases synaptic activity I think by acting as a GABA antagonist..thats why I think it increases dreams and recall..I want to try this mix again..thujone really seems interesting the more I look into it..maybe it helps to remember the trip more?
